TOKO. PRIMARY SCHOOL. During the mouth of November Mr. R .Byrnes and Air .Merchant judged the icailvcs entered tor the Junior Calf Rearing Competition at the Toko School. The calves entered in the No. 2 Group will ho judged at Toko on December 10. Roles for the basketball ground at the school have been made V Air. Griffiths, and) have been received by the headmaster. It, is expected that the marking ofß of the basketball and football fields will be concluded in good time for the coming season. The children of the school arc at present taking a lively interest in the concert and dance which is to ho held at Toko shortly, and each child is busily engaged after seliopl hours, in selling tickets. The arrangements for the concert are now well in hand.. A temporary stage has been erected at the school and the children are whole-heartedly rehearsing their various parts. SCHOOL CONCERT,

At a meeting of ladies at Toko yesterday in connection with the school concert it was decided that volunteers should be called for to aid in the dressing of the children, the catering and the decorating of tho Christmas tree, which they have decided to hold (or the children. A number of substantial donations have been received by the ladies who are arranging for the Christmas Tree. (TENNIS. The official opening of the Huinga Tennis Club wag held yesterday at the club V courts. Shearing has now' finished in the Toko district' and a, gang of shearers loft yesterday morning for Waver ley. A number of the farmers in the Toko and Douglas district are now carting and stacking ensilage, for winter feeding of their stocks.
