Constable Morris said Higson stated that ho would 'have got him had the trigger four or five times,” Higson is alleged to have stated, 'and only one went off.” Higson was! said to have addled that he fired the revolver because the constable wanted him for, “grabbing the girl.”

, The Sunday School Anniversary of the Salvation Army will he held cn Sunday afternoon at 2.30. The Midhirst children will receive their prizes'. This will b e a “big meeting” conducted by Adjutant Rogan. i At the Supreme Court, New Plymouth, yesterday, Probate of the Will of the late Michael O’Neill, of To Wera, was, on the. motion of Mr Alfred Coleman, of Stratford, soiled-1 tor, granted by His Honour, Mr Justice Smith, to the Executafist named in the Will. The Taranaki Methodist Young Women’s Bible Class Union is holding special meetings and socials this week-end in Stratford. Mrs BlamIres, ex-president l of N.Z. Union, will address a young women’s rally on Sunday afternoon. On Sunday morning a special service will he held in the Stratford Church. The Rev. H. L. Blamires will speak on “The Call of the Master.” Singing will he led by a choir of Bible Class. Every member of the church is requested to attend the Holy Communion, which will be a part of the service.
