The! prizes for bridge (hidden scores) -were won by T>r, Doris Gordon and Dr. W. . Gordon. Mrs Weston and Mrs Robson won tkei 500 prize. A very delicious supper was provided by the lady members of the club.

Mrs Cullen gave la, very jolly bridge evening on Wednesday. Mrs Geo. Hall gave an enjoyable bridge afternoon on Thursday. Those present were: Mrs Porritt, Mi's Cullen, Mrs Tyrer, Mrs Spence, Mrs Malfroy, Mrs Coleman, Mrs and Miss Thorpe, Mrs Furrie, Mrs J'ardine,, Mrs Shioild, Mrs Oresswell, Mrs and Miss Porritt, Miss N. Spence, Mrs Mark, Mrs Fredric. A very pleasant afternoon was spent.

The monthly meeting of the Guides Committee ■ was held on Thursday, when the breaking up entertainment prior to the 'Christmas holidays was discussed, also the ceremony of bless- 4 mg the Guides Colours, which will take plHce cm Sunday at the evening service..

Miss Thorpe give a very jolly tennis party on Tuesday afternoon. Miss TJniacke had some friends for tennis on Sunday.

Mrs Truby King gave a nice bridge afternoon on Monday. Those playing were Mrs D. J. Malone, Mrs Coleman, Mrs Cullen, Mrs Kayll, Mrs Steven, Mrs QreisswePl),_M,rs Hunt, Mrs Hugo, Mrs Fredric, Mrs Price, Mrs Hay, Mrs Fume, Mrs Blair, Miss Wright (Auckland), Miss Norman, Mrs Lyons, Mrs Burmeister. Mrs Coleman was “at home” on Friday afternoon.

Mrs H. Abraham had friends Hr tennis on Friday afternoon. A dance held last night .organised by some young people, proved to be a very enjoyable little function. The Red Pepper orchestra supplied bright and jolly music. Mesdanies Smart and Young acted as chaperones. Those present were; Misses Dulcic Kehley, Marsh, Mavis Melville, Molly and Mona Femmel, Sybil and Ducie Pearce, Pattie and Rhoda Childs, Annette Bai’dy-Jones, Marjorie Young, C. Huston, Esther Spearman, Joan Buchanan, Jean Hopkins, Norma Ncwlovo, Bessie Watkins, Yonnie Sheahan, P. McCuggage, Esme Whiting, Rhoda Black, and Brenda Fillers. It was a very jolly affair, and a dainty sxipper was provided by the girls. Miss Elsie Ferguson won the first Monte Carlo dance and Miss Annette Jones the second Monte Carlo.

Dr. Doris Gordon gave a delightful garden party to the ladies of the social committee of the Presbyet'rian Church, and a large number availed themselves of her kind invitation. Th e gardens were looking quite wonderful and were greatly admired. Mrs Phillips made a neat speech on

behalf of the visitors in the unavoidable absence of the president, Mrs MacGregor. Mrs. Fletcher secretary, of the committee, was in attendance. In the delightful surroundings the visitors spent a very pleasant time.
