BANNED COSTUME

SURPRISE FOR ENGLISH ACTRESS. NO BATHING. IN WHITE. Miss \Vinnie, Wager the actress, had a, djsconcecting surprise when, with her husband, Mr Henry Claff, and Mis s Victoria Carmen, she went to the Wallasey municipal baths. She, had donned, a thick white woollen bodice and thick red knickers, with skirt, and was about to enter- the.-water, when the attendant approached, saying she would not be allowed to bathe with a whitetoppe.d costume. "The attitude adopted by the. officials was petty and childish,"' she said, when interviewed biter. "I have never beard anything like it. There is nothing indecent about my costume, and the officials agreed.
