GERMAN STEAMER RUNS ASHORE
SURVIVORS OF SUNKEN VESSEL ‘ ABOARD. (Received 9.50 a.m.) BERLIN, November 16. The German steamer Smyrna which collided and sank the steamer Alice and picked up the steamer’s survivors, needlessly going to the succour of whom, the Rye lifeboatmen perished, is now ashore herself off Flissuigen, with the! Alice’s crew aboard. A fierce gale prevents the salvagers’ approach.—Australian P.A.
