Mr A. Moon is at present on a holiday visit tot Wanganui. Mr F. Olliver left for Christchurch this having received word of the serious illness of his father. Mr J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., who presided" at a sitting of the Assessment Court at Stmtford yesterday, left this morning for Dannevirke. Miss Flora Kayli secured fourth place m the list of successrul candidates at the Final Examinations field for nurses in the Wellington Hospital fast week. Mr Thomas D’Arcy Hamilton died at Auckland on Monday last at the age of 75 years. He was formerly well known in Taranaki, having been for som e years a resident 1 of Midhirst. He afterwards went to Rawhia. Major A, Conway, N.Z.S.C., in charge of Ho. 8 Regimental district, Captain R. Davis, N.Z.S.C., Dominion musketry instructor, Wellington, and Lieut. A. King, command musketry instructor, Palmerston North, were in Stratford to-day going into the matter of a ( rifle range site and the proposed .22 it in go in the Drill Hall.
