LOCKOUT THREATENED
GERMAN METAL' WORKERS. INCREASED PAY WANTED. ; ’ v (Received 9.25 a.m.) BERLIN, Oct. 31. A lockout is threatened effecting a quarter of a million metal workers in the Rhineland and Westphalia. Workers whose standard is admittedly low, demanded an increase ot twelve pfennigs. The employers state that this, would he unbearable and would result in their being unable to meet foreign competition. The workers have asked the Government to- declare the arbitrators’ decision binding.—Australian Press Assn.
