THE WEATHER
VERY COLD NIGHT. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) telegiAphed the following forecast for the 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day:— The indications are for: — Southerly winds strong to gale, decreasing and veering by west to north. The weather will probably be coal aliuD changeable with scattered showers, but improving. The nightwill probably be very cold with frosts inland. The barometer is rising slowly.
