GIRL DROPS DEAD IN CHEMIST’S SHOP
TOOK POISON WHILE DEPRESSED. AUCKLAND, Last Night. Unusual circumstances were disclosed at the inquest on Miss Murie 1 Priscilla Barton, aged 2G, who fell dead in the shop of J. A. Falhvell, a chemist at Papatoetoe, after taking poison late yesterday afternoon. Besides being an accomplished musician, Miss Barton was well known in the district. For some time she bad been in the employ of the Papatoetoe Town Board. She resided with her father, S. H. Barton. Dr. Ji ',T« Valentine, who had been summoned by Falhvell, arrived to find Miss Barton on the floor. A medical examination had revealed deceased to be perfectly normal, and the doctor could find no reason why Miss Barton should have taken her life. Momentary fits of depression had been experienced by his daughter for a nilmber of years, according to Mr Barton. She was quit© healthy. The coroner, Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., returned a verdict of death by ,pc(]son|ng while in a nimuMita. y state of depression.
