BURNED TO DEATH TRYING TO SAVE GOODS
AGED MAN’S END. INVERCARGILL, Last Night. In an attempt to save the furniture from a burning residence at Whirlo, Michael Egan, aged 84, was apparently overcome by the heat and smoke and! collapsed before ho could regain safe ground. His charred remains were later found amongst the ruins. He had been awakened by a son and was seen outside, but in the confusion his absence was not noticed until too late.
