, THE MONTH'S ACTIVITIES. .MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The usual meeting of the Stratford Primary School Committee was held last night. Mr W. Hoskin was in the chair, and also present "wrere Mesdames P. Thomson and S. Robinson, Messrs J. Morrison, J. Sorenson, A. E. Moss, H. F. F|lem,ing, N. F. Vosseler, the Secretary (Mr G. A. Carter), and the' headmaster (Mr L. J. Furrie). The Visiting Committee, Mrs Thomson and Mr Fleming, reported on necessary work at the school. It was pointed out that there was a leak in the roof near the belfry. As this had been reported periodically for the last 3 years, it was suggested that the work be done by a local plumber, and th e account sent to the Board. This was agreed to.

HEADMASTER'S REPORT. The headmaster, Mr L. J. Furrie, submitted a report on the month's activities at the school, the report being received. Th e average attendances for the undermentioned weeks were as under, the roll number being given in parentheses: August 17, 429 (501); September 7, 531', (603); September 14, 544 (602); September 21, 539 (604). DENTAL CLINIC. The Dental Nurse reported on the work dene during the month, the tofcfrl operations performed /being 177/" ' N Continuing, the report stated that as more than half the total number of patients in th e Stratford school had been attended to, it was deemed advisable by the inspecting dental officer that the nurse's operations be extended. The Cardiff Committee had applied for treatment for ,tl)e children of that school, and this had been approved by the Director of Dental Hygiene, subject to the condition that thf, children be brought to th e Stratford clinic. The treatment of Cardiff children would not mean that the treatment of Stratford children would be neg' lected. . , '** .Messrs-Sorenson and Vosseler were appointed Visiting Committee for the ensuing month.
