Mr. E. 0. A. Gaw was lasfc night re-elected President of; -the Stratford Tennis Club. 'i Mr and Mrs C. Penn left this morning for "Wellington. Mr Pepin will attend a conference of County clerks. Mr J. J. Duncan lias resigned the managership of the Melbourne Clothing Co'si Stratford branch, and haß accepted the position of Taranakt agent of the Real Silk Hosiery* Mills, Mr George Paul, junior, of Auckland, has been appointed handicapper to the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting] Club. Mr Paul ha s acted for some years as hand'icapper to the Auckland and Otahuhu clubs. Mr R. H. Boyd, at one time a resident of Hawera, where he entered the Post Office »s a messenger, arid who of recent years has been promoted at Hamilton, lias been promoted to chief postmaster at Wellington.
