TROUBLE IN CANADA.

/ NEWSPAPER STANDS FIRM. VANCOUVER. The Ku Klux Klan is again in trouble in Canada. One of its organisers was convicted in Alberta for misappropriation of the funds of the "Kanadian" Klan, and its officials in Saskatchewan are now waging a bitter fight against the Hon. J. G. Gardiner, Premier of that province. It is only on the prairie, where the foreign element predominates, that the Klan has made any real headway.

The convicted official involved the other Klan leaders in his evidence. He said that the Imperial Wizard, as the highest potentate of the Kilan is known, was an American who secured his title of "Doctor" through selling ready-to-wear spectatcles. His evidence also disclosed that the vyizar.d, the Klailiff, and the Kligraff, "three Americans, drew up the Kanadian Konstitution, under which they were empowered to split the profits between them. The Imperial Wizard is suing a Toronto paper, that has consistently attacked the Klan, threatening to bring to his aid 18,090,000 members of the Klan in America, and to "break" % paper, as it has done in many instances across the border. His letter to the paper, calling for an apology, which is not forthcoming, includes the following flight of Klan oratory: "Men who tighten itheir beßyband for breakfast and eat spaghetti and hot dogs for'lunch, and Limberger cheese forsupper" are not fit for members ? hm. "' He declares that he has now dropped the Klan of Kanada, as it refused' to pay him. his share of the profits, and has organised a new branch of ithe American Klan m Canada- - The Toronto paper, in its reply to he Wizard, says that, ever-since it began three years ago, to denounce the Klan, it has received an average'o f one letter a month from hio-h Klan officials, accusing other officials of fraud and malpractices. .Tfce wonder is that there' can be found people in Canada who will listen to the blandishments of these gentlemen from the Unit6d States, Especially after the, appalling revelations of crimes of violence committed'under ithe aegis of the Klan there.'
