RAIN EXPECTED. The- Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Ividson) telegraphed the following forecast for the 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day:-—i< The indications arc for; Northerly moderate -winds, freshening and 1 backing by west to south alter atiout 24 hours. There i s a prospect of fair to cloudy weather shortly. The weather appears to be' cloudy Jiiid unsettled with rain following, mild 1 , but probably become colder.
