FRIESIAN BREEDERS
ANNUAL CONFERENCE. Mr C. Marchant (Cardiff) presided over a fair attendance of members from all parts of lire province at the jannual ‘ meeting of the Taranaki branch of the Friesian Breeders’ Association, held in Eawera yesterday.
The President, in a verbal report, said that activities for the year had not been so marked as before, but they had all been marking time waiting for the important report by Mr Veple on the Tokaora expeiiment and the position the breed held in this test. % The association catered lor prizes at the various shows, and helped the breed in this way. They hoped to make the greatest use of the advertising matter contained in the report. The statement of accounts showed a, sound financial position. Subscriptions totalled £(i, subsidy donations £l6 5s 6d, while expenditure included pamphlets £5 16s, Egmout, ?Ne w Plymouth and Stratford special (prizes £5 ss, sundries £3 3s 7d, and ’honorarium to secretary, £ls. Some discussion took place on the matter of outstanding subscriptions, and it was agreed that a serious, effort should be made to seep re them. Mr H. Marchant explained 1 that Mr Kalauglier, the Dominion secretary,, and the council were doing their best to attain this result. The election of officers resulted. President, Mr C- Marchant (re-elect-ed) • committee, Messrs H. E. John,on ’ (Hawera), H. J. Marchant (Cardiff) O. W. Baldwin (Inglewood), A. Smart (Tikorangi), H. Johnson (Stratford), Morris (Oalaira). Tt was agreed that Mr A- J. Association for use of room were passed.
