It is reported that the army is asking for a hundred and fifty thousand yen in the next budget to employ gendarmes and non-commis-sioned officers who will co-operate . with the police in the prevention of dangerous thoughts or radicalisb in barracks. This is part of a nation wide scheme for the creation of a huge corps of special officers to deal with the general suppression of communism.—United Service.
