The Centre paid its hi-yearly visit to Auckland and South Auckland Centres during the season, the party consisting of fourteen rinks'. The programmes arranged by both Northern Centres were admirable .and the party spent a very happy time. Everything possible was done at both Auckland and South Auckland to ensure a really enjoyable holiday. From a financial point of view the yeUr was a successful ono, and notwithstanding the expenses incurred in entertaining the South Australian bowlers the credit balance .shows! an increase of !£26 2s. The hearty thank s of the Centre arc due to the ladies for their generous assistance in connection with afternoon teas on the Virions greens when competitions and tournaments were played, to the Press for publicity given to bowling news, and to those gentlemen who so kindly officiated as umpires.

Returning thanks, Mr. Foy said ho was particularly pleased to take tho office, as his election showed that the Centre wa s not catering only for tho New Plymouth clubs. Personally ho could say that in the past the Centre had always treated tho South properly. It was some yeans since there had been a Southern president of the Centre, and a southern mian was somewhat handicapped be-

cause the executive moetingsi wore held in New Plymouth. Tie might not do so well as some of his predecessors, but he would do hik best, and thanked members for his elect-
