THE WEATHER
SCATTERED SHOWERS. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) telegraphed the following forecast for the 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day:—« The indications are for southerly moderate to strong winds. Weather probably cold and changeables, with scattered showers, but improving.
The night will probably be very cold, with frosts inland. Barometer rising slowly.
