THREAT WITH IRON BAR. MAN- FINED AND WARNED. HAMILTON. June 27. "Everywhere.'his wife goes lie follows her," declared Senior-Sergeant. Sweeney, in the Police Court this morning, when Ivan Slakich, a labourer of Frankton, waq charged with indecent language and threatening behaviour. In 1925, said the. senior-sergeant, Slakich married a girl of 11, whoso ! parents forbade him to live with her for three years. Subsequently he appeared'in, Coirt for failing to obey a maintenance order. He was absolutely opposed to his wife making h?r own living, and he followed he: about, impeding her progress. ,'5 , July 8 he went to Wbatawhata Hotel and asked the licensee to dismiss her. When the licensee refused Slakich threatened to shoot him. and his wife. and also produced an iron bar, with which he* said.his wife had threatened Jiim. Accuse;] pleaded guilty to all charges except that__of using insulting words, which was withdrawn. The senior-sergeant said Mrs Slakich was instituting proceedings m divorce.
