Boon, being in the chair. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs A. C. Bretherton, E. H. Lihllell, H. Bay)y and J. Jones. MONTHL Y R EPOE T. The following monthly report was adopted:— The Executive Committee held their tirst meeting last Tuesday evening when sub-committees for the year were elected. A satisfactory feature of the Conference is the increase in the number of Associations which hjive affiliated during the past year. The general impression gained was that the Organisation is doing increasingly good work, which should, when All Associations are linked up, he one of great value. These can bo considered when recommendations made by the meeting of Chairmen of Sections are under review.

CATTLE PAVILION. Regarding the need for a new cattle pavilion, the- chairman said the executive committee had set Sup a sub-committee which was to consider the matter and report to the next meeting. No doubt members would be divided in their opinion as to what they should build for and where the bulls should be housed. and he thought members of the general committee should discuss the matter fully before the report was brought downThen they would bo aware what was required, and could consider the matter in relation to the/ funds avail-

able. A recommendation had been made that bulls should not bo kept in the horse boxes. Cows could he put almost anywhere, but bulls had to bo put in a isecnro ppce. It would have to be considered whether there

should bo bull boxes in the nev. r cattle pavilion. The important matter of member-

ship, said Mr. Boon, would have to be discussed Last year they had made a special move in the direction of increasing the membership, hut it went a little slowly, probably Because it was too- early in the soa-on and because people were leaving tile district at the time. It was important that every farmer who came to the district should be secured as a member. The annnpl subscription was a guinea, and this entitled the member to free admission to the two days of the Show for himself, and his family, anid free entrance for his motor car. It was a good investment. In the past the Show had been financed on members’ subscriptions up

to the time the money was taken at the antes- Last year there were 000 financial members when the Shm was held and to act that number members had to canvass pretty hard Ho would like to see 650 member; this year and saw no reason wiij that number should not he reached. Mr. Tarrant wskod how many hnl boxes it would be necessity to have The chairman said that last year forty bulls had to be accotnmo<^ited, without the yearlings. Mr. David thought a. box would not bo required for a- yearling bullTbc chairman said the yearlings made a. had moss of thingss when they were put in pens. — /~ r ‘
