Bdyohd stating that the man who m'ade 'him the offer was a well-known Melbourne, business man, Mr Anstey declined to give his name. The o ei wa« made to him to withdraw His nomination for the Ro'urke seat as the Nationalists thought if he did so .they hould haver a good chance of winning it. No amdniit of cash Was : specified if he agreed to the suggestion, but be wa« given to understand that it would he worth his while.
