THE SETTLERS’ ASSOCIATION.
FIELD PRIZES PRESENTED
Tho fifteenth annual dance of the Toko Settlers’ Association was lioFd at Toko, last! night and was largely attended. Boulton’s orchestra supplied tho music for the dancing, and supper was provided by the ladies of tho district. The duties of M.C. were carried out by Messrs J- D. Kilpatrick } G. Were, and M. Chaney. Mr W. H. Were president of tho Settlers’ Association, introduced Mr E. Walter M.P., who presented the prizes won during, the year. Mr T- T. Murray, president of the Toko Farmers’ Union, also spoke.
The prizes and trophies presented by Mr Walter were as follows: J. B. Hinc, Toko Settlers’ Association’s cup' (for the best crop of mangolds), weight 122 tons 13 ewt, W. H. Were 2, E. “Jones 3. E. A. gangster, Farmers’ Union Cup (for best crop of swedes), weight) 46 tons 12 ewt, H. Ka y 2, H. Cook 3.
