SAMOAN DISPUTE

Statements regarding the situation in Samoa were made to-day by Sir James) Parr and General Richadson, when they, attended a meeting of the Mandates Commission. The statements amounted to a summary ot the Royal Commission’s report. Special reference was made to tbo sale of cOpra. by the -administration owing to the low prices paid by traders, the application of the prohibition law. and the methods used to mflunce the natives against the . administration. The last including figures allegedly showing administration expenses compared with other islands, which Mr. Gurr (Admitted before the Roy Commission were erroneous. Members of the Mandates Commission asked a few questions, no tab J regarding the natives’ right to petition, but no new points were elicito.
