NEW FORD ARRIVES

, A WOiNDERFUL SURPRISE.

CHANGES BEYOND IMAGINATION

The new model Ford arrived in Stratford by train this morning, and, in appearance, construction, acceleration and power it surpasses all anticipations. The car supplied to' Messrs Kleeman and Bishop, Ltd., the local Ford agents, is a threeseater sporting model, and so beautiful arc its lines that one can only gaze in amazement at the wonderful transformation from the old model Ford.

The long sporty-looking body is extremely roomy, with luxurious and deep upholstery, whilst the rear pf the car is so commodious that a large amount Of luggage can be carried or the cover can be so reversed as to provide a comfortable dickey seat. "A strong, neatly-designed hood, With curtains which are rain-proof and draught-proof, make the car ideal for travelling in all weathers, whilst the whole hack curtain can be raised to a fastening, giving open ventilation or an unobstructed view to the rear.

But it is the vital parts of the car—the engine, chassis, springing, wheels and lubrication—which draw exclamations of astonishment and surprise from the experts. Every part of the car contains new features of an entirely new design, and the materials throughout, even to the smallest, huts and bolts, are of the fiilest possible workmanship. In the compact, powerful engine, capable of providing a speed of 70 to 80 miles an hour, the Ford factory has eliminated many weaknesses of other makes. The distributor is located on top of the cylinder-head, enabling the use of' shojtjeads to the spark plugs. The cylinder-head is detachable, giving ready access to the valves for grinding and cleaning purposes. The lubrication system is practically accident-proof and includes gravity feed and pump and splash lubrication.

Nothing could be sweeter than the action of the gears. Silently, smoothly and with a never-failing ■grip the gears and clutch, take up th e load in a manner fcH.it is; delightful to the really expert cair user. The four-wheel brakes a-r« under foot and hand control, and are powerful enough to> bring up a, fully loaded car within its own length. Th 0 well-knoWh danger to the front axle, resulting from the use of iront-wlicei brakes, lias been completely overcome on the new ford. The (axle lias been considerably strengthened where it tajkos the strain, and the transmission of-the whip is scientifically conveyed to the powerful chassis. The wife wheels are remarkable for the immense power of the spokes, Which, ill addition to being of extra thickness, arc electrically welded into the rim and hub. The wheels are i/tpidly interchangeable, whilst the tyres are so constructed that, upon deflation, they can be removed with a single small screwdriver. The Ford manufacturers are justifiably proud of the really wonderful car they have turned out, and we are convinced that it will command the admiration of everyone who inspects it. As has been previously stated 1 it is a, Ford only in name. Scarcely a sinde part of the car resembles its predecessor.
