BIG FIRE IN AUCKLAND

MUCH DAMAGE DONE. BLAZE IN BUSINESS BLOCK. Per Prebu Association. AUCKLAND. This "Day. Intensive damage was done to offices on the second floor and smoke and. water al s o ponied into other preimsics on the ground "noor. Damage was sn,sta.iiieel by Mrs Ansenne, florist and JaiiiF'sou's tobacconist shop.

FURITURE FACTORY BURNED. Per Press Association AUCKLAND, This Day. Damage estimated at £BOOO to £lO,»)00 was done by fine at 4.30 this morning at Tonson Garlick's furniture factory in Karangahupe Road. All that remains is the ground floor which is a mass of burned and charred carpets, lino materials, furniture, and three upturned safes. The insurances are £IO,OOO (f.O.A. £BOOO, Ocean £4OOO, Lloyds £4OOO, South British £3000).

BLAZE IN A CAR,ACE

Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL. This Hay. At 2.30 this morning a lire was discovered in the back portion o_ ilussel's garage. The flames had a Kood hold when discovered by the caretaker, whose prompt action in calling the brigade and using a hose on the premises prevented the flaniets spreading, the lire, being confined to the part of the buildmg usfl/1 for storing bulk spare parts and second hand vehicles. Four cycles, 33 cars and trucks, and 91 cases of motor acegsories and pumps were more or less damaged. Approximately £4.000 worth of damage was done to stock and .about £2OOO to the building. The cause of the outbreak is unknown. The total insurances was £9OOO on the building, cars £IIO,OOO and genoral stock £B4OO, all in the United Office.
