Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL. This Hay. At 2.30 this morning a lire was discovered in the back portion o_ ilussel's garage. The flames had a Kood hold when discovered by the caretaker, whose prompt action in calling the brigade and using a hose on the premises prevented the flaniets spreading, the lire, being confined to the part of the buildmg usfl/1 for storing bulk spare parts and second hand vehicles. Four cycles, 33 cars and trucks, and 91 cases of motor acegsories and pumps were more or less damaged. Approximately £4.000 worth of damage was done to stock and .about £2OOO to the building. The cause of the outbreak is unknown. The total insurances was £9OOO on the building, cars £IIO,OOO and genoral stock £B4OO, all in the United Office.
