Father McLaughlin is an old Taranaki boy, having been born at Patea, A great portion of his. boyhood was spent in Fithanr. A Wellington message says that Mr amd Mrs T. M. Wilford leave' by the Ulimaroa on February 1Q for Shanghai to see their son,- and thence will go by way of Canada to London. They will be back in time for next session. Dr. Hill, director of Kew Gardens, will arrive in New Plymouth by service car from W'anganui at 1 o'clock on Friday, and leave the following morning by train for Palmerston North, accordiing to advice received by Mr G. E. Bellringer, M.P.
