GERMAN ESPIONAGE TRIAL
ACCUSED DISCHARCED. PROSECUTION UNJUSTIFIED. BERLIN, February 2. ' The public prosecutor at Oldenburg states there is no evidence to justify the prosecution of the ser-geant-major charged with espionage. His estates were acquired during the ’inflation period, and the authorities, 'despite local gossip, do not believe his wealth originated in wages received from the British for treachery. The Deutschezeitimg says the suspect carried on business at Ahlhorn as a dealer in provisions and spirits, wherein immense fortunes were made after the war.
