TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL
THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS, A SHORT MEETING. The meeting of the Technical High School Board of Governors hist night was a short one lasting only about half an hour, and the business tear - acted was of a formal nature. Hr. H. Trimble was in the chair, ami also present were: Rev. Canon Kayll, Mrs Hardy Jones, Messrs C- Moore. W. Hoskin, J. Cocker, G. Dick, and the Secretary, Mr. A. H. R. Amess. With a view to co-ordinating school holidays and terms, the Education Department forwarded a circular setting out the suggested programme for next year, with a request that the dates outlined should be adhered to, as far as possible. The terms set out in tbo circular were: —Ist February 7 to May 4; 2nd. May 25 to August 17; 3rd., September 11 to December 19. The date for the commencement of the school year for 1929 was set down as February 5. In answer to Mr. Hoskin the Director .pointed out that the dates for Primary School terms were also given, and circulars had apparently been sent to Committees. The circular was received. A letter from Mr. G. A. Carter, Secretary of the Primary School Committee, asked 1 , whether it. was the intention of the Board Ito make an annual donation of £j.O towards the baths. If iso, the amount- for the current year had not yet, been received. The Chairman pointed out that no definite decision in regard to an annual payment had been made, the matter being one for, decision each
year. The children of the Technical High School, Mr. Trimble continued, had used the; baths, and benefittea accordingly, and, therefore, he had much pleasure in moving that a grant of £lO be made. This was carried unanimously. Accounts) (amounting to £67 17s Bd were passed for payment, after which the Board went into Committee.
