The Union Company's Kaimanawa and the Westport Coal Company’s Canopus, both arrived from Westport this morning withip a few minutes of each other. Both left Westport on Wednesday, the former 5.20 p.m. and the latter at 6.5 p.m. The Kaimanawa berthed at 7.20 a.m. and tß“e Canopug 35 minutes later, Both sides are willing to call five race a dead heat. Both vessels were fully loaded and were burning the same coal. * The weather was perfect. The Kaimanawa was docked five nionthis up and The Canopus nine months ago. They maintained a normal speed ,throughout the voyage.
