WHITE ft'!AN SENTENCED. MURDER OF CHINAMAN. BRISBANE, June 8. A white man named John Maeaiisfcci* was yesterday at linrcaidine in the central west sentenced to imprisonment lor lire tor the murder of a Chinese conk named Sum Sing.
Evidence disclosed that an alter-* cation during which strong; language was used, occurred at the Marathon hotel between Sing and a woman named May Wise, otherwise Ferry, employed as a housemaid The woman complained to Maealister, who secured a rifle from Ids room and proceeded to the kitchen, where the Chinese was fatally shot. Maca,lister alleged that the rifle went off accidentally. Prisoner admitted a criminal record in New South Wales.
