LOCAL BODY ELECTIONS

ADDITIONAL RETURNS. The following additional particulars have come to hand regarding local body elections held elsewhere; CHRISTCHURCH. In the City Council election the present , figures show that Labour lias eleven seats and the Citizens Association live. This is a complete reversal of the position on the previous cvmcil. ' BLENHEIM. Mrs F. Redwood, Blenheim’s lady councillor, was defeated at the municipal election, but was elected as borough representative on the Hospital Board. HOKITIKA. The following were elected: Borough Council; E. Te Eitchelmanu, W. Jeffries, D. J. Evans, A. Armstrong, J. King, A. R. Elcock, T. W. Duff, G. Heanz, E. W. Hienau, Harbour Board :<LW. Ziegler, G. Wood, E. W. Heenan.' Westland Hospital Board: J. JBreeze, T. W. Duffy, G. Heinz. dannevirke. For the Mayoralty, Mr A. J. C. Ruuciman was elected unopposed, and for the Borough Council the following were elected: Messrs H. b. M. Quigley, A. H. R. Gillespie, Leo. Stein, C. H. Hansard, Walter Dobson, C. J. E. Bickford, S. Chadwick, A W. Smith, L. W. Ward. For the Dannevirke Hospital Board the following were returned: Leo. Stein. David Drummond. For the Dannevirke Power Board the following were elected:— H. S. M, Quigley, A. J. C. Ruuciman, Prod Craven. ■ FCXTON Mr M. E. Per ran was re-elected Mayor unopposed. The new council is: E. Parkin, John Ross, C. Ruud, E. Cowl, Y. F. Lucinsky, M. Walker. R, Thompson, C. Spring, R. Rangiheuoa., Harbour Board: H. Berry, J. Chrystail. Horowhenua Pbwer Board, R. Bryant. CARTERTON. Mr W. Fisher was elected Mayor unopposed. ■ Only six councillors were nominated for nine vacancies and the following were declared elected: A. M. Broadbent, J. L. Churchouse, G Hug;/ 1, T. H. Hughes, A. J. Parton, J. Freddy. Nominations for the three vacancies will close to-morrow.

The poll'for the weekly half-holi-day resulted, Saturday 411, Thursday 202, informal 13.

The counting of the Borough Council election votes was not completed till the early hours of this morning. The results are; Borough Council: A. L. Gee, P. B. Foote, J. Hutchison, M. Thompson, HI A. Oakey, 11. A. Nicol, H. J. Matches PAH I ATUA In the Council election for nine seats all the old members, except F. G. Bourke were returned. The new member is Daniel Moriarity. The borough representative on the Tararua Power Board (Mr J. B. Wilson, the present chairman) was defeated by Mr J. D. C. Crewe. NELSON. For the Mayoralty, Mr \Y. J. Moffat! defeated Mr W.
