DRAMATIC RECOVERY
REGIMENTS' COLOURS. RELIC OF 1870. (Received 9.35 a.m.) (Times). LONDON, January 24. The Strasburg correspondent of the Times says that a fragment or' the colours ot : the Light Curassiers whicfi were practically annihilated at the Battle of Worth in 1870, were dramatically recovered. A non-commissioned officer picked up the colours on the field and handed them to the occupants of the next bed in the hosptjfal, requesting that they be forwarded to the regiment. The recipient sold the gold embrodiery, made a necktie of the blue silk, and kept the white silk with a, golden inscription of battle honours. This ha 3 now been acquired for the Army Museum.
