SENSATIONAL ESCAPE.

NAVAL DESERTERS' DASH, Press Association— Copyright. SYDNEY, May 4. Two naval deserters from the warship Delhi were placed aboard the Mamma at Wellington and made a sensational escape as the steamer was' passing Miller’s Point. Taking advantage of the passengers ciov/d----ing to one side to watch the ferryboat, the men jumped overboard and swam away. One turned on his back and waved good-bye. It was too dark to see whether they reached shore safely, but presumably they did and escaped the attention of the naval escort awaiting them on the wharf.
