JOURNEY TO LONDON NOW MUCH EASIER. COUNTRY QUIET GENERALLY." (Received 8.55 a.m.) LONDON, May 5. The journey -.to London is now easier and traffic is mfir/cediy less congested. This is due ’to better organisation and more trains. The Civil .Commissioner reports that the general position iin the country is satisfactory. There has been no serious rioting though there were disturbances in Newcastle and at Chersterle Street. All railways announce that they are increasing their services and the underground railway hope to restore a full central London tube service to-day or to-morrow, and if sufficient volunteers are enrolled to run other underground services.
