f - THE TEHRY EXPEDITION. INTO THE UNKNOWN WEST. Melbourne, Jti»e 4. Supported by the Royal Geographical Society, an expedition will shortly set out from Darwin. Led by Mr Michael Terry, the expedition will consist of a party of six. including Lord Apsley. Using a new kind of motor transport, the expedi tion will traverse the country from Darwin to Perth, .'3OOO which will be across unknown territory. The party, which is due to leave Pine Creek on July 15, hopes to find gold and oil, to show that the region is suitable for white io.eu, prove there are tablelands oyer KJOO feet above sea level, and isecure geographical and ethnological data. The transport wilt consist of two Guy roadless creeper track cars, each drawing a trailer. Lord Apsley will accompany the cv pedition to study the country from the point of view of development an I settlement. Mr R. A. Frescott, F.R.G.S F.R.C.1., Avill be the topographiciii surveyor, and M. Redknap will b" cinema operator.
