DEATH OF EX-PRESIDENT, The following resolution was carried at the meeting of the Gene-al Committee of the Stratford A. and p Association to-day;— “This meeting of the General Committee. of the Stratford A. and 1 ■ Association expresses sincere regrets at the loss which the community Ims sustained through the death of Mr George Songster and extends to Mrs Sangster and her family its deep sym ■ pathy in the great bereavement sustained by them. This meeting desires to place on record its appreciation of Mr .Songster's many activities in Urn Association’s interests and which have been extended since the inception of the Society, of the manner in which he inspired; his associates and of the lofty ideals, which always characterised his actions. This meeting feels that the success of this Association is largely due to his inspiring influence and unassuming personality.”
