PRISONER’S APPEAL FAILS.
Wellington, Octolier 24.
The Court of Appeal dismissed tho appeal of William Lamb against his sentence. Lamb was convicted in the lower court at New Plymouth of Carnal knowledge and was sentenced to five year’s imprisonment with hard labor.
SOUTH BRIDGE D.H.S. DESTROYED.
Christchurch, October 24
The Southbridge District High School, an old building, was destroyed by fire last night.
