The last Moascar Cup match of tho season is to be played at Now Plymouth on Saturday, when Mt. Albert Grammar School and Now Plymouth Boys’ High School will meet. “INKSLINGERS* PLAY. Teams from the Taranaki Herald and Daily News met at New Plymouth on Saturday, in a friendly game, the former winning by six points to five. Tries were scored by Herk. Moon and Plumb for the Herald, and by Nasmith for the News, the latter being converted. After the match both teams were entertained by Mr W. C. Weston at his residence, the toasts of their host and hostess, the winning team and the referees being heartily honored. THE ASSOCIATION GAME. DULLER DEFEAT CHINA 4 to 1. Westport, September 20. , One of the largest crowds which ever assembled on Victoria Square gathereed there to-day to see the soccer match, China v. Duller. A strong drying wind and sun cleared away the effects of overnight and morning rain. The first spell end-, ed with Bul*ler having two tries to the visitors’ one. In the second half Duller added two more. TARANAKI DEFEAT NEW PLYMOUTH. Ideal weather conditions prevailed on Saturday afternoon when the public of New Plymouth were able to witness the first and only “soccer”' match of the season to be played here. The game took place on the sportsground at Pukekura Park and there was an attendance of about 400 people. The contesting teams were the Taranaki representatives who drew with China at Hawera on August 6, and the New Plymouth team, the latter being defeated by three .goals, to nil. The teams took the field as follow; Taranaki (chocolate and gold).— Goal, Renwick (Hawera); backs, Bettridge (Manaia), Beare (Hawera); half-backs, Barker (Eltham), Pooch (Hawera), Brown (Auroa); forwards, Plant (Auroa), Galloway (Hawera), Campbell (2) (Hawera), Pollard (Ka- ; ponga). . ... , New Plymouth (black and white). —Goal, Royston ; backs, Holmes, Matthews; half-backs, I.
