There was a memorable day at Tikitiki last week when .the Bishop of Waiapu laid the foundation stone" of the carved memorial church to he built. Standing against the dais on the occasion of the laying of the founation stone were two beautiful | swords which glittered in the sun. These were the sword s presented by Queen Victoria to the late Hon. Mokena Korere and the Hon. Ropata Wahawaha, two distinguished ' chiefs. ■■• , ]V^£iM
