SCOUT NOTES
(By A Trip.) Tiio camp is over and we a.e safe homo again. Quite a lot of our friends have, been asking how we fared, etc., so perhaps a few notes on the matter will bo acceptable. lu the first place, when camp was first spoken of we decided that we must econiinise.- Transport last year cost ug £lO, so wo decided to walk, the distance being about 20 miles. A start was made at 5.45 a.m. on Monday, 31 st December, aid reached Inglewood if 10.50. Here we were met by Mr Eager, proprietor of vtbe Inglewood Coffee Palace. This good f.ieud had arranged with a few friends to entertain the St at•ford' "'Scouts when' they passed through; A first-class dinner" was provided, for which 1 we were very grateful. Wo arrived at the camp site at 3 p.m. and although a hit tired and footsore everybody, was vary cheerful. After a short rest all hands set to work to gather fern for liedding.
Inglewood Scouts were camped about 300 yards away, and this, made matters much more interesting. It our good friend, the Editor, can spare room we will give a diary of our doings in camp next week. Every Scout is wanted at the meet-ng on F. iday night in the Parish Hall." The Eltham Scouts are holding a hig sports meeting early in March, and we want to organise our forces in order to keep onr end up. There "ill le competitors fiom all over Taranaki, and we must do onr .best to uphold the honour of Stratford.
