Congress recommended the establishment of a permanent orgaiftsation lor research in the scientific problems in tho Pacific regions; also that plant diseasesi and insect pest Surveys generally should be undertaken in all countries bordering tinPacific. Congress passed a resolution recommending the establishment of seismographs of high sensitivity in tho Pac'fic, and the establishment of a seismolo.-ical and volcanic observatory in New Zealand. Congress concluded with comprehensive votes of thanks to forty-four individuals, and bodies ranged under dght heads.
