Rugby Conference
N.B.W. AND NEW ZEALAND. Per Press Association. Wellington, September 3. '> At a conference between members of the New Zealand and Now South Waleg Rugby Unions, matters ot importance to both countries were discussed. A proposal to include Australian players in the team to play in England next, yoar wa s definitely turned down, on the ground that it was dosirable both should retain a distinct identityi in touring combinations. Another subject was the terms +<-> 'govern the of New South Wales nnd New Zealand teams, and «n arrangement was come to, which, however, will not be published until Now South Wales formally accepts it. ' The New South Wales difficulties in fighting the League game were gone into, and the help given by New Zealand wa 9 fully recognised. An understanding was readied' to the effect that while New Sout ( h Wales should paddle its own canoe, it will have the fullest sympathy and support, from the New Zealand Union. The disparity of referes \ rulings 'was discussed. It appears that where free kicks are awarded in New South Wales f scrums only are in some cases awarded in New Zeahuid. It was decided to devise means to 'bring about uniformity in. both countries.
