REPUBLICAN LOSSES. DEFEAT OF LABOR, London,!, August 31. The latest figures showing the state of parties in the Irish elections are: — , Government 41 Republicans 28 Independents 14 Labor • 9 Farmers 7 All the parties except the Republicans are pro-treaty. There I are fifty-one results to come. It is expected there will be a huge total vote against the Republicans. The greatest surprise is the failure of Labor.

Throughout the Free Stale the voting was four to one in favor of the treaty, k feature of the election is the success of the women candidates, apart from Countess Markievicz, Mrs Collins O’Driscoll, a sister of the late Mr Michael Colons, was elected as a pro-treaty member for Dockor. Miss Kathleen Kynn, Mrs Cathal Bruga (widow of the Republican leader killed in the Sackvillc Street fighting) and Miss MacSwiney were elected as anti-treatyites. Captain William Redmond, son of the late Mr John Redmond, was elected as an Independent. Labor, Republican and Farmer candidates were elected for the other Waterford seats, this being the only district which has thus far returned no Government candidates.
