TARANAKI RUGBY UNION.

A special meeting of tho. management of the Taranaki' Rugby] Union wa s held last night. Tukapa protested! against the play-off match last Saturday being awarded to Uronui on tho grounds that Urenui played R. Frost, who wa s a member of the Clifton Club, and Skolton, who had played for tho Taranaki Maori reps, and was therefore a senior player. The Urenui Club notified that R. Frost had worked arid resided in their district sinco the end of June. He had played for Urenui in the second round, except when he played for Clifton juniors against Tukapa •at New Plymouth on July 21. On J that occasion TuTvapa. protested [against Clifton playing It. Tim victory of the New Plymouth High School team over tho invaders from Palmerston North yesterday was well received in Stratford, though not altogether unexpected, but the difference in tho final points created some surprise. There was an'attendance at Pukekura Park of about 6000, who were treated to a fast and exciting contest. The latter put in a great run, fended off a couple of opponents, and, after a. fifty yards' sprint, dashed over near the comer amid great enthusiasm.
