Eltham Bowling Club

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Eltham Bowling Club on Wednesday evening (reports the Argus) was attended by about "twenty members, presided over by Mr A. Tiplady. i COMMITTEE'S REPORT. Commenting on the financial position of the club, the committee in its annual report stated inter alia that the past sea<son commenced with a handicap as there were one or two outstanding liabilities to face, in addition to necessary additions and •improvements to club property. The club matches were fairly well contested and some keen contests were witnessed, the winners being: Championship singles, Mr J. R. M. Stewart; handjicap singles, Mr J. R. M. Stewart; handicap pairs, M. E. Carter aaxd Mr Ceo. Rowe; colts, handicap, Mr. Geo. Rowe. |The report was adopted, rnombers expressing satisfaction at 'the position of the club.

GENERAL. The election of officers for the ensuing year rosulted as follows: President, Mr D. L. A. Astbiu y; vice-president, Mr E. Bary; secretary and treasurer, Mr R. Gow; ground supervisor, Mr T. O. Stunners; auditor, Mr H. G. Carman; committee, Messrs H. G. Carman; A. Tipjady, E. Bary; delegate to T.R.C., M* r D. L. A. Astbury. A revised versiion of club rules for competition matches was submitted by a special committee congesting of Messrs A. Tiplady, H. G. Carman, and H. H. Judd, under which provision was made for deriding the championship handicap sincdes and oolte handicap singles on the two-life sy»tom. The rules were adopted. It was decided to enter teams thir, soason for tho Taranaki Bowling Centre's shield competitions.
