The Prime Minister (Mr W. F. Massey) left Wellington on Saturday for Auckland to bid farewell to his family. Mr Massey will be back in Wellington to-day, and sails tomorrow by the Tahiti for San Francisco, en route to London.

The Mayor (Mr J. W. McMillan) has received the following telegram from the Hon. W. F. Massey: "Your very kind telegram received, for which accept my thanks. I warmly appreciate the good wishes expressed therein in connection with my forthcoming visit to London to attend the Imperial Conference. My best endeavours will be used to promote the unity and integrity of our Empire.—W. F. Massey."

About two hundred representative citizens, headed by" the Mayor, assembled at the Auckland station on Sunday night to farewell the Hon. W. F. Masßey, prior to his departure io the Imperial Conference. The Mayor (states ths Press Association) expressed the hearty approval of tho citizens .of Mr Massey's mission, and also best wishes for the Premier and Mrs Massey. The Premier made a suitable reply. Cheers were given for the Premier and Mrs Massey and the British Prime Minister.
