Tlie breaking-up ceremony of the scjiooj wa 8 hold on Friday in conjunction with a farewell to Mr and Mrs Johnson and family and Miss Thomas, who are leaving the district. A concert wa s given by the -children after which afternoon tea was partaken of, which was prepared by the children who also presented their fellow scholars with a book each. The cows are now coming in fast, and milking is in full swing on some of the farms. A lot of farms are now changing hands, which shows that the district is going nVnd. Mrs Hodder, who has been spending a fortnight in Wellington, has returned.
Mr Ireland ha a returned after an enjoyable trip to the King Country.
