Stiff sentenced were imposed 111 Dublin on four men and two women who were convicted of stealing, while aimed, £I3OO from a. mill. Hudson, leader of the gang, was sentence'll to ton years’ penal servitude, plus 15 strokes from the cat; John Meade, ten years; John Tiguo, seven years; James Meades, three years; and the women eo eighteen and nine months respectively. The Archbishop of Tuam has issued a statement advising the people to vote for the Free State Government, which had replaced disorder with tranquillity*. The Bishop of Meath also supports the Government, on the grounds that its administration has been marvellously successful.
