OBITUARY
Mr Samuel Hoey, of Kamo, an old resident of the Dominion, died last week at the age of 79 years.
The death of Sir James Burns, managing director of Burns, Philip and Co., is announced in a cable from Sydney.
The death took place suddenly last evening of a fifteen year-old orphan girl, named, Vera Wood Hewitt, residing with her guardians, Mr and Mrs C. Mayhead, of! Kahouri Road*, Stratford.
The death of one of the oldest residents of Auckland, Mr Thomas Moyle, eldest son of the late Mr William Moyle, of Thames, is reported in his 83rd year, Mr Moyle came to New Zealand with his father from Cornwall in 1847, and was engaged in mining operations for many years. He served In the militia In the Waikato during the Maori war.
Mr Body, an old Identity of the Tariki district, died at his homo last week. Mr Body and family were for some year farming on the Rutland Road, near Midhirst, and after disposing of the farm purchased a house in Tariki, where Mr and Mrs Body lived in retirement for about ten years. Mr Body is survived by his wife and a fairly large family of grown up sons and daughters!
