No professional medical man was on hoard, hut two passengers, at the captain's request, stopped into the breach, Father Hanrahan, of the Christ-church cathedral, and Mr Somerset, well-known sportsman. Mr Somerset acted ax the anaesthetist and the priest as the doctor. The wounds? wore patched up, and it was found neor»ss*ry to put in a number of stitches. The paTTeot was removed to hospital on arrival a day or two later and wa s discharged a couple of day& a K°- h° s P ita ' authorities stato the attention received at the hands of the "doctors" undoubtedly sav»:l t!r.i from serious complications.
